That sounds tough. Have Amy (eh hem) strap you on her back and see how you fair?! Sorry Amy, all directed at hubby...recall our "smashing" play?
Throw some other raw rookies into A and we can all have fun!

- I would love a 2nd Tourney but with everyone allowed to play. A1200 and under League may give those haven't won a Tourney or placed a psychological boost but to cut out basically all the A players is not in anyones interest. To all the non-A Players. What if we started a Tourney and if you were an A player but couldn't play?
In reality, what is everyone/anyone willing to do to keep the Tournaments going let alone a 2nd Monthly Tournament? Would everyone chip in X dollars to buy a 1 or 2 Table(s) if a location was found to accomodate the Tournaments? Beyond showing up (which is very helpful and key) what would everyone/anyone be willing to do to help the Tournaments grow/stabilize or to have a 2nd Tournament?
Open the flood gates.... :) !

I wouldn't mind a bi-monthly tournament in SF but I can't promise to make it to them all the time! :)

If there is enough interest, then it might be on the 3rd Thursday of the month. I would like some more feedback on which format all of you would like. We can even change the format around to get a better feel for the players.

I definitely believe that a second tournament can only
improve the group in many ways.
1- Gives everyone a better opportunity to play in a
tournament setting, improving their games and overall
knowledge of the group.
2- Can mix up the formats to give everyone a chance to
win (either no A, complete random draw, shake & bake
or pick your partner or maybe a mix of all of the
above) on a rotating basis)
3- Gives us some additional leverage with Marco to
show that his bar could be the SF Foosball bar and
give us the possibility (much discussed, including
with Marco at the last tournament) of adding a 2nd
Even if someone can only make it to one tournament per
month, it could spread out our participation over two
tourneys, which could make for faster nights (what
time did the tourney end last week? I left @
midnightish). That will also help with Marco.
We've got enough players to do it now, with nearly 30
players in June. The questions remaining are:
Which night?: 3rd Thu? or should we put it on a Mon,
Tue (not the 2nd or 4th b/c of PA)or Wed to give
someone who's got Thu schedule conflicts a chance to
Which format?: Many options, which should probably be
voted on in some way by the people who play the most.
Just my thoughts on the idea...
