Spinal Cord Injury Vocational Integration Program:
Predictive Outcome Model Over Time for Employment (SCI-VIP: PrOMOTE)

We are looking for a qualitative researcher for a multi-center study examining methods of vocational rehabilitation among Veterans with spinal cord injury at seven participating VA Hospitals across the country. The position is funded through 2015. The goal of this study is to determine how varying levels of supported employment relate to the ability to achieve and maintain employment among veterans with spinal cord injury. Ethnographic methods and cost effectiveness analysis will be employed as well.
The qualitative researcher will effectively lead the qualitative team by planning the research, coordinating data collection, conducting interviews, analyzing transcripts, writing and disseminating findings from this arm of the study. The incumbent will train and/or coordinate the training of two qualitative data managers participating in the research. This position will require travel within the continental US. There are opportunities for publishing.
Salary: GS12 salary range is $60-78k plus benefits (including life, health, dental etc. as selected).
GS 12 Qualifications: Requires US citizenship. Applicant must have at least 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a PhD degree or a PhD or equivalent doctor degree. Specialized 1 year experience equivalent to a GS 11 would also qualify the applicant in lieu of the education. Previous experience managing qualitative data collection, analysis and dissemination for multi-site research projects preferred.
