Public Hearing to Discuss Hillsborough County’s
Section 8 Public Housing Assistance Plans
Date: Wednesday, July 14

Place: County Center, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd., 2nd Floor in
Hillsborough County is holding a public meeting to accept
comments from the public on the Section 8
Housing Choice Voucher Program’s Administrative and Annual Plans.
This meeting will take place Wednesday, July 14 at 2 p.m. at County Center, 601
E. Kennedy Blvd., 2nd Floor in Tampa.
These documents are available for public to view and comment
during normal business hours at the Section 8 Office, 3620 W. Humphrey St. in
Tampa. All comments from residents will be considered in the preparation of the
Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher plans are used to guide the optimal
delivery of the rental subsidy assistance in strict compliance with the U. S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development guidelines.
The goal of the Section 8 Program is to provide safe,
decent and suitable living environments for households with “very
low” and “extremely low” incomes. Eligible families
receive a federally-funded rental subsidy based on household composition and
income. All rental units are privately owned and inspected annually for
compliance with the Minimum Housing Quality Standards.
