      >>> I come from a long line of Latvian Yak Yodelers on
my father's side (most people call them bagpipers, but I know better.)
And on my mother's side, we practise the rare art of performing
Coordinated Half-Toned Patagonian Moose Cantrips -- not a sound for
the faint of heart, let me assure you. Then there's my husband's
stepmother who has taught me the blood-curdling Full-Throated
Pachysephalosaurus Quaver -- but we won't go there...Anjuli<<<<

Anjuli, you hold out! I demand WAV files immediately! Unfortunately
the only other teacher LYY in CAID is on sabbatical..(something to do
with high altitude kilt gliding?) I did happen to find a Laurel who
can teach me Underwater Tuvan Throat Gurgling, complete with Glottal
stops, Aspirations, and Subharmonics...She happens to be a Humpback
whale who comes through every spring for some calamari and fresh kelp.
Ahh, to hear her sing...would bring tears to your eyes, not that you
would notice (at 15ft below.) And you wanna talk Projection..whoo. All
the Coastal Kingdoms are vying for her.

Actually, I'm hoping that my colleague,Rathflaed DuNoir
get's tagged, shaved, dyed and banded with a Laurel Radio Collar. He's
brilliant, talented, compassionate, and has only slightly less CD's than
the God of CD's Master Yonaton (hallowed be his name). But
unfortunately, Rathflaed has two dark, terrible secrets....(do tell,
      True, do tell!)
      1. Rathflaed is Bi. Bi-Kingdom. Yup, Sad (or Good?)to say, this
prejudice still exists in the SCA. He belongs to TWO kingdoms. Lives
in CAID, calls himself the Black Bard of the Meridies, cuz he loves
them. Okay, the Military may have some say as to why he's in CAID, but
I'm hoping in a fit of Patriotic fervor, someday, CAID will see the
light. In the mean time, his CD's are available..(never be shy to pimp
      your friends...$ka-ching$!)
      2. It's not really Stephen...it's his hat. His hat is actually a
sentient life form, with great talent from Omnicron 9, or the Dark
Nebula, but there you go with that whole Bi, thing again... In any
case, Stephen to this day, sans chapeau, can come to an event, and not
be recognized . But once "the HAT" clambers onto his bean, HI-HO, the
Music Flows! Universally known and loved! Secretly, "the HAT" has been
considering a solo act, thinks Stephen is just slowing it down, and
has been doing some gigs as a local Indian Casino for some test runs
(but there you go for loyalty...sigh.)

And Melandra, about the 30 minutes, with a room full of pre-K,,,,you
forgot the most important question. "WHY?" "Because we paid for 30
minutes, and you are going to entertain these little terrors, and earn
your geld" As anybody knows, who does schools, pre-schools, etc.etc.
You show up, you do your schtick, you hope that your name is written
correctly on the check. So yeah, 20 is my optimum time...but if you
pad for set up, ask questions, do some physical games...nadda problem.
My worst mundane crowds have been corporate gigs, where you are wall
paper, and festivals, where drunks want to come up and share the mike
with you. Boy, do I have some "gig from Hell stories".
But that's another story (official storyteller tag line ending.)

Hey, do you get more freq. flyer miles? Tonis absolutely deserves a
Laurel, GO ATENVELDT! Two performing Laurels in less than a year. What
are the folks out there on craic? Now, if we can just get Meridies and
          Caid to agree on something.....heh.heh.heh.

As to the Hat, I have a similiar problem with my Tam- unfortunately it
has a different focus than yours...all mine wants to do is bad Billy

Hesseman was Dr. Johnny Fever on WKRP for those of you
keeping score. Billy was just as good, but for the
best stuff find old standup videos...try the local
Lackluster (Blockbuster) Video. They sometimes have
them. Otherwise, try the little crappy video stores
that have been around a while.
