The South Carolina Autism Society regrets to inform you of the passing of Dawn Thomas, one of our Parent Mentors in the Parent School Partner program.  Dawn died as a result of injuries received in an accident.

Dawn started working for SCAS in 2004, advocating for a free and appropriate public education for children with autism in Aiken, Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Edgefield, McCormick and Saluda counties.  Many students’ educational careers were positively impacted by her efforts.  She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her contagious laugh and love for helping other parents with school related issues.

Dawn leaves behind two sons, as well as her extended family.  Please pray for Dawn’s family as they deal with this sudden tragedy.
