      Winthrop University (Rock Hill SC) is hosting a Think College awareness event / open house on Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 4-6 pm.

      This event is for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities ages 16 and older, parents and caregivers of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities of all ages, teachers, administrators, guidance counselors, transition coordinators, related services professionals, vocational rehabilitation counselors, and other agencies that provide supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  

      Winthrop Think College is one of five post-secondary programs in the state of South Carolina for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities ages 18 and over. There are over 250 programs such as these across the nation providing a unique and inclusive college experience to individuals who never dreamed attending college was a possibility.

      Don’t miss this informational event to learn about the program from participants, student mentors, Winthrop faculty and staff, and to learn about available grants and scholarships. Please RSVP by going to http://welcometocollegelife.com/..  On that website you can watch videos about the five programs across the state. At the bottom you will fill out your information to attend the Winthrop Think College Event on Jan. 21.
