Group Description

It is hoped that List members will find open discussion in the areas of medieval food and feasts. Topics cover all aspects of cooking and feasting. This List has come about from the many emails I have received since I completed my Feast Survey in 2000. The Survey can still be located online at http://www.virtue.to/feast_survey/

If you need recipes to serve at feasts, ask here. If you have questions about hall setup, meal serving, menu planning or any aspect of feasting, just ask. Discussion is NOT limited to historically documented recipes. There are already groups/lists for SCA authenticity cooks, this one is for the historic cook AND the ambiance cook. Both experienced and novice cooks are welcome. Although most are members of the SCA, COOKS FROM OTHER "MEDIEVAL" REENACTMENT GROUPS ARE WELCOME. Members are asked to stay on topic (or fairly close) and be respectful at all times. All are welcome, but to prevent spamming the moderator will monitor all requests to join. Please introduce yourself after joining (although Lurkers are welcome). PLEASE READ OVER THE GUIDELINES and FAQs in the Files Section and glance over our many Links in the LINKS SECTION. Please don’t let the high number of messages scare you off - jump right in. The current "Senior" Moderator is Mistress Christianna MacGrain, OP and her moderator decisions are law.
