Yes, of course you`re right...
I was hoping to find the definitive Celtic wide-brimmed hat, which for the fashionable apparently doesn`t exist...and some of the Cavalier-type hats I saw were so FUN looking--guys had every fancy feather imaginable stuck into the folded-up brim (Sorry I didn`t see the quill ends to see if there was some sort of silver end-tip or anything like that, for the person who asked)
I have learned SO much in reading the posts of the learned here; much of what I had THOUGHT was authentic Renaissance/Medieval I had seen in Hollywood movies and such...
At any rate, I will have SOME sort of head-cover for the next one...even if I have to adapt an umbrella, to make it look "older" somehow...maybe covering it with period-design fabric? I`ll have the world`s most original Celtic umbrella/sunshade!
Thanks, eveyone, you are all such a BIG help!
so as for hats.
straw would be period. just watch the cut/style of it . will look up
docs, but maybe someone will find them before me. the musketeer-type is
also kinda/mostly sorta period. but the main thing is, safty! if you
need it wear it! same thing with sun block glasses and lots of water.
