My name is Butterflye -- not an SCA name, although I may develop a persona
name using the French form (Papillon) someday. I live in the Baron of
DragonsLaire, Kingdom of An Tir (Bremerton, Washington), and just joined SCA
last month. It was something I'd thought about for a long time, and the SCA
here is just such a nice bunch of people that I decided it was time!
I'm leaning towards 12th century, either France or Switzerland, as that is
my ancestry, but who knows? I could end up English, or Scottish, or Middle
Eastern! I'm still researching and playing with all the possibilities. In
the mean time, I will make a T-tunic and a tabard or two, so I will have
sort of nondescript garb until I narrow it down more firmly.
I've reached the Current Middle Age myself, and have 2 teens and an
almost-teen, and I work full time, so sewing will have to be simple! I cross
stitch, have for years, and do regular embroidery as well. Planning to pick
up bobbin lace very soon. I have taken up archery, so I'll be needing to
craft some arm protection -- got a nasty bruise on my upper arm this week,
and would rather not repeat the process!
Well, that's enough for now -- I lurk, but I am learning!
Hugs all round ~~ Butterflye ~~

you to find it on a map!). May be working in Austria or the USA next

Current web access limited to when I'm at 'home', which is 2.5 hours
from where I'm living.
Thoroughly overwhelmed by the volume of e-mail, unable to catch up. Will
be lurking until at least September, unless I give in to good sense and
accept the job that I was interviewed for today. Assuming that they
offer it to me...
Only problem - it's as a computer programmer. I've got a tan now. That
takes away any programmer cred that I used to have...
Running away now.
