How authentic to "Italian" are you wanting to be? The elderly woman in the
"Kitchen" scene is just a long piece of material that is tied and then the
extra piece is wrapped around the head. If you enlarge the Kitchen picture
to 200% you will see a woman in the background for a side view. You can
short cut the tie and wrap by making an Elizabethan biggin because the t&w
looks at time like the woman is wearing a biggin. There is also a scarf
wrapped in a turbanish style within that period but not found in Campi's
work. I just can't remember who.
Campi, second pic. the woman shearing sheep is another scarf tie & wrap
style that might work.
