How can you be taught not to dress for your persona? And why wouldn't your
persona matter at camping events? The level and amount of persona work is
purely a personal choice. I get that a lot of people don't stick to their
personas, but it seems to me that a camping event is the place one should be
in one's persona. Where else do we get to have an immersive experience like
Personal choice of course, and if someone wants to play in other costuming
periods then that's fine. But I cannot see that any kingdom should teach
anyone that it's not appropriate to observe one's persona at an SCA event.
Otherwise what's the point? I don't get it.

Here in the East we are taught that for camping events, especially at camp
or just walking around, you do not dress for your persona...
If persona doesn't really matter at camping events, then here is
your chance to enjoy wearing some other kinds of garb that perhaps you might
not otherwise get to wear...
