and Seneschal, but also the Kingdom Marshals:
As to whether the Marshal, who has been chosen to be the Archery
Steward for an event, has the right or authority to accept or deny,
any donation for their part of the event, that he/she deems is, or is
not, in keeping with the spirit of the SCA.
...or just plain does not want to accept the donation to give out as a
prize because he/she disagrees with it?
And then good gentles of the list, if a cash prize were offered, but
with the stipulation that there were archers in the area that would
not be allowed to recieve it, where would that put the argument?
Let's add to this scenario...
Let's say the cash prize had another stipulation, and was donated only
to the archer that scores highest on the IKAC.
My next question is this:
Is this where and how we want to reward the struggle for authentic and
traditional shooting in the SCA?
IMHO, I say no.

have heard of it, as I have not heard back from any group on the
confirmation of a prize to be donated. I have only just asked.

you may be able to decide what you wish to give as prizes for the
shoots. We cannot help but put a little of our own wishes into how the
shoot come off.

you can always just give it. It's not as if anyone can stop you from
rewarding the winner or even from announcing before the shoot that
you intend to do so... =)
Ultimately, the issue is moot in that respect.
