      A question for you. I do not necessarily consider "Siege" and "Combat Archery" as non-rattan activities. Fundamentally, practitioners of those activities need rattan combatants as targets. Can you explain your rationale for separating those from the rattan numbers?

      Also, do the rattan numbers from the SEM include those people, or exclude? (Are they being counted twice?)

      The numbers for heavy rattan, armored, participants were obtained from the SEM.

       TOTAL            10,234

       

      While some people are authorized in more that one weapon form, there is no way for determining or separating those numbers out. With that in mind, it is evident that there are a large number of people in the SCA who take part in non-rattan combat activities.
       
       
      Non-rattan participant numbers were up approximately 954 from 2009.
       
      Heavy rattan, armored, participants were down approximately 1,272 from 2009.
