      Greetings

      Yup, it's that time of year again. The Winter
      Challenge will be open for business as usual on November 1st. The rules
      are the same as last year - they can be reviewed at:

      http://web.raex.com/~obsidian/wint.html

      The scores, as they
      begin to come in, will be posted (usually within 24 hours) at:

      http://web.raex.com/~obsidian/scores10.html

      Note the form of
      that address, it's slightly different from previous years.
      Hope to
      see scores from all the Challenge's fans, and I really would like to see
      new participants as well. As always, if you have any questions or
      comments, send 'em along, and I will answer or adjudicate asap. Please
      send this missive around to any lists I'm not on.

      Cordially;
      Baron Nigel FitzMaurice, Winter Challenge Guy

        You know I still have a score up from this from 2000-2001. The only time I
        ever shot this was when I was visiting a friend in the Midrealm and went to
        an event there. That event had some weird shoots including the blindfold
        shoot. Each person had to get a spotter to shoot at the target while
        blindfolded. Was very interesting and very funny.

          Y'know, I think I remember that event, though I can't recall where it was
          held, specifically. As a marshal, I was appalled at the idea of a
          blindfold shoot, though I have to admit that it's essentially no different
          from the spotting we allow for legally blind shooters. Not unsafe, really;
          and a really interesting idea - but it still gave me the willies. No
          blindfold rounds in the Winter Challenge... :-)
