      A Shoote in the Wildwoods
      August 29th-September 1st

Greetings unto the archers of Aethelmearc and the rest of the Known
World. The Barony of Delftwood is elated to invite all to attend our
Shoote in the Wildwoods Archery extravaganza. The gates will open at
5:00PM on Friday, August 29, 2008, and will close at 12:00 noon on
Monday, September 1, 2008 at Wild Wood Sports Center, 5740 Fikes Rd.,
      Elbridge, NY 13060.

There will be shoots on every day of the event. This event consists of
Archery competitions, Thrown Weapons, the possibility of combat
archery, and even a class on how to make a Roman Rising block
crossbow. There will also be exciting and challenging novelty shoots.
The nights will contain bonfires, night shoots and even the
      possibility of bardic entertainment.

The weekend tournaments will consist of the Seven Pearls Archery
shoot, Barony of Delftwood Archery Champion, Barony of Delftwood
Thrown Weapons Champion. But, just because they are the championships
don't think that they won't be challenging and fun. With all of the
Archery going on we can't forget the legendary monster attack which we
need the children of Aethelmearc to defend us from.

Lord Edward the Grey (Greyledge Archery/Diana's Shaft Shop) formerly
of the East Kingdom will be joining us for a Roman block cross bow
making class. By the end of the class you can walk away with a
crossbow, for target or combat, of your choice and the knowledge of
how to make them. If interested please contact the autocrats before
August 15th, about supplies, reservations, and FEES for the class.
There is a deposit needed as well. There will be other classes to be
determined later and a full list will be placed on the Aethelmarc list
before the event. If you are interested in teaching a class please let
the autocrats know and it can be scheduled.

We welcome merchants, please contact the autocrats as merchants space
is limited. Wood for the campfires can be bought on site as they have
a surplus of firewood. On Saturday August 30th, there will be a
chicken bar-b-que, with corn, salt potatoes, and baked beans for $8.50
per person. For Sunday, August 31st there will be a lasagna dinner
with a salad and Italian bread for $6.00. Breakfast for Saturday and
Sunday will be pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausage for $4.00 a
plate. Lunch will consist of Hamburgers/cheese, hotdogs and venison
stew, the prices for those will be determined by the site. (There will
only be pre-paid reservations for the dinners and need to be received
by August 20.) All food is provided by the site. The site fee is $10
for adults and $5 for children under 12 (includes camping) + $3
non-member surcharge, there is no difference in fees for day trip or
camping. Make checks payable to: SCA, Inc., Barony of Delftwood, and
send all pre-registrations to SCA, Barony of Delftwood, PO Box 6694,
      Syracuse, NY, 13217

Please note that the owners ask that no animals be brought on site as
there are already dogs there. (Very kid friendly)

Co-Autocrats for this event are Lord Edward Harbinger (Bill Moore) and
Lady Anastasie de Lamoure (Samantha Moore) 107 Saslon Park Dr.,
      Liverpool, NY 13088 phone (315) 461-0171, email lovetoo@....

For all points North, South and East find your best way to Route 690
West out of Syracuse for about 3 miles. Take RT 695 (695 after about a
mile will fork, stay to the Right), stay on the 695 to the end, Exit 6
(a veer to the right) towards Auburn. Merge onto RT 5 west (right)
towards Auburn. Stay on RT 5 for approximately 4 mile. Make a right
onto Fikes Rd. and the site is less than a half mile on the right.

All points West, take I90 to the Auburn/Weedsport, exit 40, and turn
right onto 34 towards Weedsport. Turn left onto 31B and take it to the
end. At the end of 31B you want to turn left onto FT 5 towrds
Elbridge. Take 5 through Elbridge and keep your eyes out for the Ford
dealership on the left. Fikes Rd will be just after the dealership on
the left. The sight is less than a half mile on the right.
