      I did a monolithic foundation and placed the bales at 24 in from the edge with Styrofoam under the bales.\\

      Newbie question does the footer have to be 24" wide the same with as the bales?

      I used a foil type product for the roof deck and batt insulation for the house ceiling. I just used the bales on the eave ends.

      Thanks for the information. I'll check out that Marana Feed Store for straw bales. I'm planning on using blown-in cotton or cellulose for the roof insulation.
