WEEKLY SWING NEWSLETTER MAY 31 - JUNE 6

There are a lot of special events coming up this weekend, and in the
      weeks ahead.

CLUB SWING w / Austin Symphony Orchestra

This Friday and Saturday, June 1st and 2nd, A.S.O. presents Club
Swing, "an evening of swing music with the Austin Symphony"
One of our students called the A.S.O. office to find out if this will
be a public dance, or a show. He was told by the rep in the box
office that "this is intended as a show with a group of 5 entertainer
who will be dancing,, the woman said you could dance but we would miss
the intended effect of watching the swing scene go from the 30's thru
the 40's then end in the 50's."
They would make some room to dance, but that audience participation is
not the focus of the event.

      Diabetes Association.

      LINDY IN THE PARK
has a new host, YUKI, during the month of June, taking over from Craig
Willms, who did a great job during May.
So far there's been a pretty consistent turn out of dancers. They'd
like to see more of you show. Usually we dance from 1-3pm then go to
some spontaneous social activity. So far we've been to Amy's Ice
cream, Players, and a pool party.

This week Yuki plans to host a little raffle for everyone who attends.
      Who: Y'all
What: Lindy in the Park at the LBJ Library

this Wednesday, June 6. They will be back at the SpeakEasy on the 13th

      IT'S COMING. SOON.
On June 14th. A Thursday. Whose anniversary? The Syndicate's Second
Anniversary, that's who. I just found out there will be a special band
event that night. The core of the band will be Denia and the Devine
Five. Mandy and Burke are working on lining up the other musical
guests for the night. It is now confirmed that they will have a cash
bar for the event. As more details become available, I will report
      them here.

This will be a great opportunity as classes will be small enough to
get some great personal attention from some fantastic instructors.
