      Below is a job description for a tenure track position in cultural
      anthropology.  Please circulate to anyone you might think is interested.

      Randolph-Macon College:

      The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure track position
      in Anthropology beginning Fall 2001.  We are seeking someone who is deeply
      and enthusiastically committed to teaching undergraduates and conducting
      research in a liberal arts college.  The successful candidate will have
      primary research interest and experience in Africa, with a concentration in
      Diaspora Studies, and will be expected to make substantive area and topical
      contributions to the Black Studies and International Studies Programs, as
      well as topical, theoretical, and methodological offerings in Sociology.
      ABD or Ph.D. in cultural anthropology required; Ph.D. and at least two years
      of teaching experience preferred.  Randolph-Macon is a co-educational,
      liberal arts, residential college situated 12 miles north of Richmond
      Virginia.  Applicants should send: cover letter, curriculum vita, three
      letters of reference, statement of teaching philosophy and research
      interests, description of teaching experience including syllabi used, and a
      summary of student evaluations (if available) to: Beth Gill, Chair,

      23005-5005.  Review of applications will begin on November 15, 2000 and
      continue until the position is filled.  Randolph-Macon is an EOE.
