        CALL FOR PAPERS

Anthropologists and sociologists (including students, both graduate and
undergraduate) are invited to submit manuscripts for consideration in an
expanded edition of the book "Landscapes of the Heart" -- one that will
cross the boundaries of ecology, culture, health, the social sciences
        and
the humanities. Individuals already involved include E.O. Wilson
        (Biology,
Harvard; winner of two Pulitzers), Noam Chomsky (MIT), David Cash
        (Kennedy
School of Government, Harvard), Maurice Strong (2003 Recipient of
        National
Academy of Sciences's highest award), Stephen Schneider (Biological
Sciences, Stanford), Lee Gass (Sculptor and Professor, UBC; recent
        winner
of National 3M Award as "Professor of the Year"), and Stephen Kellert
(Forestry and Environmental Studies, Yale). Guidelines for the new
        edition
        can be found at:

There is a strong need to have women correct the very unfortunate and
highly undesirable preponderance of men in this project so far. Please
forward this CALL FOR PAPERS to women's groups/lists/newsletters of
        which
you are a part. I want to ensure that at least 50% of the authors in the
        expanded edition are women.
