      has a new position with a specialty in Chicana/Latina issues at the

       Tenure Track Faculty Opening

      POSITION:   Tenure-Track appointment in Women's Studies: Chicana/Latina
      issues at
      assistant to associate professor level.


      Ph.D. in appropriate discipline with a specialization in Chicana/Latina
      issues. Demonstrated capacity for effective teaching as well as
      potential for research and publication. Ability to communicate
      effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.

      Supporting subfield work in related academic areas. Ability to evaluate
      and develop upper-division curricula on Latina issues. Interest in
      mentoring students in the Women's Studies program. Record of community

      Effective teaching of introductory Women's Studies courses, as well as
      upper-division courses such as methodology, feminist pedagogy, women of
      color in the U.S., and feminist theory. Development of research program
      leading to publication in the field.  Appropriate Department, College,
      and University service.

      SALARY RANGE:   Commensurate with background and experience; probable
      range $45,000-$55,000.

      REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:   Letter of application addressing
      qualifications and stating research and teaching interests; current
      curriculum vitae; three letters of recommendation; transcript from
      institution awarding highest degree.

      (Employment is contingent upon proof of legal status to work in the
      United States. This proof must be provided prior to employment at the
      University.  An appointment is not final until proof is provided.)
