Sosthene Habumuremyi hopes to become the first Rwandan primatologist

      George and I, as members of the Leakey Foundation, help support students from
      developing countries who are seeking graduate degrees outside of their home
      country. One of this year's recipients is Sosthene Habumuremyi - who is working
      to become the first Rwandan to earn a PhD in Primatology.  His research is on
      hormonal correlations of socio-sexual behaviors in female mountain gorillas.
      Sosthene has worked at the Karisoke Research Center in Rwanda and is currently
      studying lab techniques at the Max Planck Institute in Germany.
