learning more about the roots of these uprisings and how to explain
regional developments to your students?
Join us on Thursday, February 10th from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. EST for a free,
one-hour, online discussion with leading experts in the field. Barbara
Petzen, education director at the Middle East Policy Council, and
journalist Tom Regan will answer your questions and provide strategies
for addressing the conflict with your students. Educators from all grade
levels and subject areas are welcome.

Barbara Petzen is education director at the nonprofit Middle East Policy
Council, where she has created a new comprehensive resource for
educators seeking balanced and innovative materials for teaching about
the Middle East atTeachMideast.org <http://TeachMideast.org/> . She also
travels across the U.S. giving teacher workshops using these new
curricular materials. Before moving to this position she served as
outreach coordinator at the Harvard Center for Middle Eastern Studies.
Tom Regan is the principal editor of Al-Shorfa.com

the Middle East to cover news, business and culture from a regional
perspective. He also wrote the Daily Update on Terrorism and Security
blog for the Christian Science Monitor for four years, which focused on
