      * A STUDY BY GRADUATE STUDENTS at Yale has found that tenured
      and tenure-track faculty members are responsible for only 30
      per cent of undergraduate classroom instruction, while
      graduate students and adjunct instructors together handle 70
      per cent of undergraduate teaching.

      * THE PRESIDENT of Nunez Community College, in Louisiana, was
      fired late last week after months of state scrutiny over the
      college's shaky finances and sloppy bookkeeping, including
      its failure to collect more than $600,000 in tuition.
