The AAA is asking SACC for its response to questions relating to
community college teachers. Please take this opportunity to answer the
questions below and send them to me this week. I will compile the
responses and forward them on to Richard. Thank you. Ann

Subject: AAA Membership Outreach to Community College Social Science
My name is Richard Thomas and I and the Manager of Membership Services
for the American Anthropological Association. We are considering
membership campaign to recruit social science (in particular
anthropology educators) who teach at the community college level. Some
issues we want to include in such a proposal include:
1. What could AAA offer this group that they do not already get
from other associations?
2. Would a discount to our annual meeting motivate a community
college teacher to join AAA?
3. Would access to AnthroSource motivate a person to join?
4. Would a 3 or 6 month membership (trial) be effective?
I am coming to you with these questions because I know that you are a
leader in the Community College community and I assume you and SACC
would be able to provide guidance to our membership effort. I would
appreciate your thoughts regarding this possible outreach and any other
input you would care to provide. If you would like to discuss this via
telephone, pleas let me know when it would be convenient to call. Also,
if can recommend any others in (or without) SACC who might care to
provide feedback, please let me know so I can contact them.
Your assistance in this endeavor would be greatly appreciated.
