Eugenie Scott is a terrific suggestion! I would also like to suggest Laura Nader for cultural. She is not only a terrific draw, she is a major contributor to connecting cultural anthropology and its theories to significant issues and 'speaks truth to power'...as such, I have found her to be very supportive of community colleges. For linguistics, I would love us to invite Don Brenneis.

      Chuck,

Two names come immediately to mind for physical. The first is Leslie Aiello, formerly of the University of London and now living in New York as the director of the Wenner-Grun Foundation. She is also a former Pierce College part-timer! The other is Eugenie Scott of the National Center for Science Education.

      Friends and Colleagues:

Every year at the AAA meetings, SACC puts on a panel entitled "Current Issues in Anthropology: Five Fields Update". The 2007 meetings are at the Marriot Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC from November 28th until December 2nd. We pay the panelist's registration fee and being on a panel does not preclude them giving a paper.

Would you please send me names of people you think would do a great job in one of the following fields: socio-cultural, linguistics, archaeology, biological-physical, and applied? With the name, please send me contact information (i.e., email address or phone number) and why you think this person should be selected.

      Thank you for your help
