A good reason for attending the 2004 AAA meetings in San Francisco is to
attend the SACC sponsored 'Five-Fields Update' session.

The session is scheduled for Thursday, November 18th from 10:15 AM -
Noon. You won't want to miss it, so make your travel arrangments
      accordingly.

The session begins with biological anthropologist and textbook author
Michael Park presenting 'Biological Anthropology: New Perspectives and
an Old Perspective Confirmed.' Smithsonian archaeologist Melinda Zeder
follows with 'The Balkanization of Archaeology: A Call for a Return to
Common Sense.' Cultural Anthropologist and textbook author Barbara
Miller is next with 'Cultural Anthropology Now: Urgent Issues, Cool
Stuff and Challenges.' Linguistic Anthropologist Douglas Glick presents
'The Institutional Framing of the Practice and Teaching of Linguistic
Anthropology.' Robert Hitchcock wraps up the formal presentations with
'Applied Anthropology: The Fifth Sub-Field of a Rapidly Changing
      Discipline.' A discussion period follows.

      See you there.
