Our annual meeting will be held in lovely city of Savannah, GA, March 31 (Wed) - April 4 (Sun).

The theme of the meeting will be "Diaspora:  People in Motion."

We'll have tours of this historic city and (I'm working on) time at the Penn Center where we will learn about Gullah and Geechee cultures.  We may even get to meet the Gullah Queen.  One day we'll have lunch at Mrs. Wilkes' Boarding House and I'm hoping we'll have a low-country boil.

Some of you may want to go to the jazz clubs or to go to The Lady Chablis' club.  (She's not always in town, but if she is performing, she's well worth seeing even if only for the noteriety!)

Right now I'm reading "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" and I highly recommend it, if for nothing else but the descriptions of Savannah and her characters.

Savannah should be in full bloom (azaleas) while we are there and it should still be pleasant as far as heat and humidity go.  We'll be staying down by the river at the Days Inn.

I'll send out more information as I get it.

        See you there!

        Cheers!

Sounds like CT might be a good place for the meeting. Have heard high praise for the Indian museum at Foxwoods. ... Sounds great. Our home city (Norwich, CT)
