      Syringe Access, Use & Discard: Context in AIDS Risk Study
      Ethnographer
      The Hispanic Health Council, a community-based health research and service
      center, seeks an Ethnographer for a three-city, 3-year NIDA-funded
      ethnographic and epidemiological study of drug user access to, use, and
      disposal of sterile syringes. The Ethnographer is expected to provide
      detailed qualitative descriptions of the study sites within the cities of
      Hartford, New Haven and Springfield, conduct ethnographic observations of
      syringe-related behaviors, and participate in structured interviewing as
      needed.
      The position offers a competive salary, a full benefits package and
      participation with a community-based multidisciplinary research team. The
      Project is affiliated with the Yale University Center for Research on AIDS
      (CIRA). Opportunities for longer term employment.
      Required:
      PHD or MA in a social science or health field, demonstrated 2 years of
      ethnographic field experience (work in HIV, with drug users, and/or in urban
      U.S. settings are all pluses), and Spanish speaking ability. Experience
      with QSR NUD*IST a plus.
