      Journeys of Expression II - 2nd Call for Abstracts
      (official deadline 31 October 2002)

      The Centre for Tourism and Cultural Change at Sheffield Hallam University in
      association with IFEA Europe announces "Journeys of Expression II - Cultural
      Festivals/Events and Tourism".
      This research Stream of the 12th Annual IFEA Europe Conference will provide a
      forum for discussing and debating key issues surrounding the
      inter-relationships between cultural festivals/events and tourism.
      Contributions from academics, researchers, professionals and practitioners will
      include case studies, evaluations and theoretical perspectives covering a wide
      range of themes including:

      - Commodification of tradition in cultural festivals;
      - Festivals and events as a tool for urban and rural regeneration;
      - Expressions of heritage, identity and place representation through cultural
      festivals/events;
      - Tourism and arts festivals;
      - Developing and managing tourist markets for festivals and events.
