      MIDWEST BIOARCHAEOLOGY AND FORENSIC ANTHROPOLOGY ASSOCIATION

      This year Michigan State University is proud to be the host for the 6th
      Annual Meeting of the Midwest Bioarchaeology and Forensic Anthropology
      Association (BARFAA) Spetember 24-26, 1999 in East Lansing, Michigan. As in
      the past, the meeting format will consist of informal and formal papers,
      open discussions, posters and Sunday morning "show your cases" and
      workshops. Informal papers on "works-in-progress" and posters are
      encouraged. The goal of the Midwest Bioarchaeology and Forensic
      Anthropology Association is to provide a forum for osteologists, forensic
      anthropologists and bioarchaeologists in the Midwest to present current
      research, methodological advances, and specimens of particular interest.
      Students are strongly encouraged to participate.

      The deadline for abstracts and pre-registration is July 30, 1999. The
      registration fee is $35.00 before July 30th and $40.00 after. Registration
      fees cover a Friday night reception, Saturday breakfast and lunch, Sunday
      breakfast as well as participation to paper sessions, posters and Sunday

        Due to the numerous requests concerning abstract submission, the deadline
        for abstract, poster, etc. submissions is now AUGUST 30th, 1999. This is
        the final deadline and no extensions will be available for beyond this date.
