      The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Middle Tennessee State
      University invites applications for a tenure-track; full-time; Cultural
      Anthropology position at the Assistant Professor level (#129060).
      Ability to teach a broad range of offerings in cultural anthropology is
      essential including Introduction to Cultural Anthropology and some
      combination of the following:  introductory and upper-division courses in
      the areas of religion, gender, applied, medical, and one or more
      geographic regions in a Peoples and Cultures series.  Geographic area is
      open.  Ph.D. in anthropology desired (ABD considered) and demonstrated
      excellence in and commitment to both scholarly research and teaching.
      Review of applications will begin April 25, 2002 and will continue until
      the position is filled. Applicants should submit a letter of application
      referencing #129060, full vita, and names of threes references to Attn:

      Successful candidates will join a growing and dynamic undergraduate
      anthropology program emphasizing the four-field approach, fieldwork and
      cross-cultural experience with four full-time faculty and 80 undergraduate
      majors in anthropology (housed within a joint department of seventeen
      full-time faculty and over 200 majors).
