I love the new videos (Our Diverse World). Use them in distance learning courses along with the fantastic study guide and Haviland's text -- they make a great (if EXPENSIVE) distance learning package. I also show a few of the videos in my traditional classes.

However, I have to say that I REALLY miss the case studies that were included in Faces of Culture. I'd love it if Coast would develop a few new case studies for Our Diverse World. I can really see those having applicability in the courses, and I hypothesize that they would be profitable for Coast b/c some schools might only purchase the case studies.

George and others out there who are using the new Coast multi-media
cultural anthropology curricular set (replacement of Faces of
Culture)...a number of SACC members were the advisors on this project
and would love to know how you use it and some reactions from your
      students to the material...

      Hello Jarrett Phipps,

I use the recently-produced materials from Coast Learning Systems at
      http://www.coastlearning.org/courses/course.php?cid=58 <http://www.coastlearning.org/courses/course.php?cid=58>
for both students at a distance and students in a classroom. It's the
replacement of the long-standing "Faces of Culture" video series, with
      many online components.

      Good luck.

I am currently putting together an online class for Cultural
      Anthropology (ANT2410).

While I have several hurdles to overcome such as having them turn in
work, like kinship diagrams, via computer. My main problem seems to be
finding resources available via the web (free). I have found some, but
not many. I also teach a history course via the web and the resources
are widely available including video, interactive and just good research

My request if for you to share any web (free) that you know of and find
helpful. I would really appreciate it.

      Thanks in advance,
      Jarrett Phipps
