It is near Carnevale in 1423. Rifugio del Bacchus has opened its doors in a dark cellar entrance off an alleyway not far from the Battistero di San Katriona... hidden from sight, but with sounds and aromas promising entertainment and repast beyond common expectation. Despite its unassuming appearance, this humble tavern in a dilapidated district of Milan has become a social gathering place for travelers and will soon become a hub of Renaissance culture.
Patrons of Rifugio del Bacchus can expect the finest offerings, extending far beyond mere food and drink. Games of chance... or skill, libations beyond imagination, viands to tempt the gods, and entertainment of every sort are offered to those who enter the Taproom through the vine-draped portal.
Rifugio del Bacchus seeks to convey artists, artisans, and crafters into a world they had not imagined before! Weavers may find that special spool of silk precisely color of the setting sun. Needleworkers can find what they need to adorn the beautiful. Those with song in their heart can sing out in the mellow evening dew. Scholars will find a book rare and enticing. Warriors in need of an anvil can make their want ring out in the silence! Merchants will find a place to show their wares near the Taproom. And children will find amusement under their parent's eyes in the open courtyard.
If you are resident of the Current Middle Ages, or just a traveler seeking an afternoon of relaxation and entertainment, come pass some time with us. All are welcome to join the company in the Taproom of Rifugio del Bacchus.
