Hollywood. Although it has it's bright spots: Roche's portrayal of
Glover is pretty good in terms of illustrating that Marblehead
      roughness.

Saw "The Crossing" advertised on eBay. I remember seeing it on the tv but
now am wondering how it fares in terms of accurately portraying the period.
Is it worth the purchase or another Hollywood version of the AWI.

If this is the A&E production "The Crossing" then historically, there is
nothing redeeming in this production. I like the way the river looked, but
that is it. As a site curator, the only good thing is it does help kindle
some interest in the period by the general public, much the way "Johnny
Tremain", "Swamp Fox", and other less then historical shows did. This is a
good thing. But my standard review of 'The Crossing", when asked is: "The
Crossing has people who were not there ,there, wearing things they did not
wear, saying things they did not say, and doing things they did not do. Even
the epilogue got the facts wrong." Good for a laugh but it is not history.
