      Subject: Gorget

I have a silver gorget engraved with the numeral 1. It is
      capped by 13
      stars
and under the #1 the word Liberty is also engraved in
      cursive. Can you tell
      me anything about its history?

Did all gorgets of this period have all of the same
      elements, or would each
Regiment have had a different engraving?

Any idea who would have been the military supplier for
      gorgets?

I am interested in selling this piece. Any ideas of who
      might be
      interested?

Thanking you in advance for any help you might be able to
      provide me.
