1st day of shooting at Guilford
- Well, the first day is in the can.
The folks from Northern Light, the producer, are great! They LISTEN! They
ADJUST to make the overall impact more correct!
Everything bad you heard about "The Patriot" - - these folks are 180 degrees
They are filming NC militia retreating from the 1st line. A reenactor
notices that none of the firelocks show any powder residue (there are some
close ups of the locks). Some of us of a more Kingly persuasion joke that
they all ran before firing a shot! Since at least one ragged volley will be
fired by the 1st line, they all "flashed in the pan" to get the powder
residue around the lock area and re-did the shot.
Several lines of dialog have been changed to make them more believeable (for
example, deleting or modifying some strong language by Sjt Lamb - - who was
not a profane man) and one scene, of a surgeon actually ON the battlefield,
has been dropped entirely since there's no record of anaything like that
These folks are great to work with and the site is very good. As an added
benefit, it started sprinkling rain as they were filming Greene's army in
retreat - - as happened! NEAT!
Still not to late to catch the bus and c'mon down or simply come on over!
This is going to be a good one!
