Essay Contest for kids on "Renaissance Life"
The Texas Renaissance Festival is conducting its
semiannual essay contest for Texas children in fourth
through eighth grades.
Students are to write a 100-word essay on "Renaissance
Life," describing their favorite aspect of that
colorful period in history.
The essays may be factual or imaginary, typed or
written, and should highlight a favorite person,
activity, event or story from the period.
The winning essayist will receive a 50-minute
theatrical performance of "Huzzah for the Renaissance"
by the Renaissnace Players for his or her school.
There will be four winners statewide.
Entries must be postmarked by Feb 28 and mailed to the
