RE: [ReefKeeping] Quick question [pink tank]
I realize I’m responding to this question quite some time after the topic was launched.
About two years ago, I experienced a pinkish color in my tank immediately after upsizing a pump in my filtration system. The ultimate cause was too much flow through my PhosBan reactor, and it was causing the Ferrous Oxide granules to break into tiny particles small enough to escape into the my main aquarium. What had seemed like a great idea to increase phosphate removal, was, as is always, something that created far more work than it should have.
For what is worth.
I would like to know some more info on THIS system, and or how this system is different then the other systems in your house…
But maybe someone has had a similar experience and knows or has had PTS (PINK TANK SYNDROME) hehehe
You can get dibs on naming this J

Subject: [ReefKeeping] Quick question
Ok I'm a bit leary about asking but Well I'm curious if anyone else has
ever experienced this.
What would make a SW tanks water turn pinkish?
This tank has been setup for about 1 yr and never a problem with it.
Partial water changes are done, Fish were healthy until this morning.
(Different story:heater problem) My hubby thought it was the food at
first but we have 4 sw tanks and use the same food for them all. Only
this one tanks color turned funky. Any ideas? No lectures please. I
just want a new perspective.
