Socialist Alternative will be screening John Pilger's film, 'The Secret Country - The First Australians Fight Back' at 6pm Saturday 26 January in our centre, upstairs 246 King St Newtown. This film screening is a chance to oppose the nationalist garbage on January 26, and celebrate the proud and continuing history of Aboriginal resistance to invasion and racism since 1788. The film will be introduced by long-time Aboriginal activist Graham Merritt.
Entry $10/$5. The film screening is a fundraiser for the Marxism 2013 conference in Melbourne this Easter. Documentary maker and investigative journalist John Pilger will also be speaking at the Marxism 2013 conference, as will legendary Aboriginal activist Gary Foley - online tickets and more info at www.marxismconference.org
