New Orleans Traditional Jazz Camp Dates Announced for 2012
The third annual New Orleans Traditional Jazz Camp will be held June
10-15, 2012 at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel in the heart of the French Quarter.
The distinguished musicians in the faculty for the 2012 camp includes:
Connie Jones, Gerald French, Matt Perrine, David Boeddinghaus, David Sager,
Otis Bazoon, Ray Moore, Banu Gibson and Leah Chase.
During the day campers attend individual and ensemble classes and at
night "sit in" at music clubs. Campers will also perform at the world
famous Preservation Hall and enjoy a night parading the streets of the
French Quarter at a traditional "second line" parade. Camp concludes with a
performance Friday night in the Bourbon Orleans ballroom that is open and
free to the public.The Saturday after camp will feature a special daytime
performance at the Palm Court Jazz Cafe where campers and local trad jazz
musicians jam at the New Orleans Trad Jazz Camp Festival.
This year NOTJC will accept high school musicians if accompanied by a
parent or guardian. The camp will also offer scholarships to local New
