Re: Paul Specht
- If memory serves, the two important characters in this recording are
the fabulous Finn, Sylvester Ahola, and Phil Wall, pianist for the
Specht band and composer of "Static Strut." Phil Wall wrote the tune
in honor of Ahola who was a radio amateur. (static, from interference
in radio transmission and reception by atmospheric electricity).
Other musicians in the recording (from Brian Rust's American Dance
Band Discography), Charlie Spivak, trumpet; Al Philburn, trombone;
Ernie Warren, Foster Morehouse, Jack Cressy, reeds; Lou Calabrese,
banjo; Billy Wolfe, brass bass; Johnny Morris, drums.

or who is playing, and where the recording was made. Anybody knows?

in the year, but it is hard to know who is copying who.
