When The Sun Goes Down Blues & Once in a Blue Moon
Uncle Dave has this to say about the songs:
I think you'll get a kick out of the opening, with Tom Brown's bizarre muted
solo thing. This is nice, long side at slightly over four minutes, with even
the speed corrected to about 79-80 as it is here! (To bring the piece from
an unlikely B major into the more usual key of C major).
Also check out the fine banjo behind the second sax solo. There is no banjo
player listed with The Happy Six, and no second trombone either, although in
the latter case it could be one of the trumpet players pickin' up a bone for
just those few bars at the beginning. Nice, tight arrangement. The other
side, "Why Dear?" is more pedestrian, but also decent.
