So do you have the recording dates for my latest queries?

Jeffery, no harm done, your apology is most welcome and accepted.
This group is to much fun and has to much knowledge to let a few words that
were just in passing cause any friction among members. Keep Jazzin' it
up and everybody hop as they once said. Art

It was never my intention to imply that YOU might have an overly blown
egocentric personality. Nothing could be further from the truth! My
comment referred solely to Mr. Jelly-Roll's rather well-known penchant for
self-promotion which, I might add, is not such a great fault in one so
gifted as he (eg. W. A. Mozart, in his time).

If a wrong impression was given, it was mine. Please accept my apology.

      Jeff.

Jeff, I Don't have a large ego, but the question was all in fun and
involved Jelly Roll Morton . He claimed to have invented Jazz. But,
actually didn't, of course. He just was the first serious and successful
Jazz composer and arranger. Jazz up until his time I guess was not
arranged. This changed due to radio and the strict time element and the
4/4 rythm of the day. It was intended to be just a fun question. (I know
you meant his Very large ego not mine) lol Early radio like TV was done
mostly as a variety hour with many stars crosing over into a new medium.
Programs as I remember them came with the "crash" .

Sorry I gave the wrong impression. Art

Mine is ... because of his VERY large ego. (Which, you'd have to agree,
must be, at least, partially correct) [-: But I have a feeling it's not
      what you were looking for.

      Jeff.

Why did Jelly Roll Morton claim to be "the inaventor" of Jazz? Art
