      In regard to Alex's comment, I first got turned on to the RedHotJazz site and
      this group because of my uncle's involvement in several jazz groups in Europe
      during the 1920's and 30's and was interested in learning more about that type
      of music. As it turns out, much of the discussion runs far afield of those
      narrow confines, but I cannot say I've been disappointed. It has opened entirely
      new horizons for me, ones that I had never bothered to investigate before. So
      while I think it's cool when someone posts something that directly relates to
      pre-war jazz in Europe - particularly Germany - I enjoy reading the other posts
      that come across as well.
