- Dec 20, 2007Hi folks,
It seems like there have been a lot of requests to repost stuff lately.
It will make this group less annoying to belong to if we cut down on
the reposts. If nobody wanted the blue sofa when you posted it the
first time, they probably still won't want it a week later. Too many
repeated offers tends to feel "spammy"
If you weren't able to move your item(s) when you first posted to this
group, I'd like to suggest this.
(1) keep the contact information of all who contact you. That way, if
you have a no-show, you can contact the nesxt person(s) who
specifically showed an interest in the item.
(2) Try joining and posting on another group. I have listed a number
of them in the links section of this group. You'll have to be signed
into Yahoo! to access this list, or you can print it out.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RecycleEriePa/message/3404 I've also listed them below.
I do think there are certain strong exceptions--when the need is
strong, for example--but please let's avoid unnecessarily repeating
Here is a list of sites in the area for free recycling. (this one was
included so the list would be as complete as possible). I have not
checked out the Erie Freecycle group, it looks like it has a lot of
activity, which could be lots of action and/or lots of spam. Please
feel free to let me know of other ones, and also good/bad experiences
with any of these groups, discontinued sites, etc. (and remember to
type RECYCLE somewhere in the subject line so I know you aren't
spam!). Enjoy . . .
