Group Description

This group is for people who use, or who are interested in using, the Ray's Arithmetic series of books for their homeschool math curriculum.

Ray's Arithmetic students learn arithmetic, increase their reading comprehension skills, and learn to think rather than plod through page after page of addition or subtraction problems with a one line direction at the top of each page. A student raised on Ray's will not even know he should be fearful of "story problems" because from day one every problem is posed in a sentence format.

Hard copies of the Ray's Arithmetic series for K-8th grades can be purchased at Homeschooling Books as well as from other sources. They also carry the Classic Curriculum Workbooks that correlate to the Ray's series.

All of the Ray's Arithmetic Series books can be purchased in a CD format at http://www.raysarithmetic.com/

There is a Parent Teacher Guide by Ruth Beechick that can be purchased to be used to plan lessons with the books. There is also a free alternative to Beechicks book. It is a guide that was written by the publishers of the Ray's Arithmetic series. It is available as a download from Internet Archive at http://www.archive.org/details/eclecticmanualof00cincrich This guide is especially helpful for those that are starting out with the Primary Arithmetic book.
