  • I tried to buy one the day after it was released. Sadly sold out everywhere. There is a rumour that it will be a give away on the cover of an RPi magazine soon.. 73s Steve G0XAR

  • Charlie, I would like to try to explain the attitude of the members of the group pointing you elsewhere. There was a time when it was overrun with beginners questions from some people who couldn't be bothered to read the manual or do some basic research. This annoyed the hell out of those of us with some knowledge who were trying to deal with radio ham specifics which the group was...

  • hi Eric, Isn't it just amazing how we can communicate from different sides of the world pretty much instantly via the net! Have a safe trip home. I keep on thinking I should do the American licence exams. It's possible to take them here. An American callsign would be a nice thing to have! Kind regards, Steve On Tuesday, 3 November 2015, Eric Richards dubdubdub.net.nz@^$1 [Raspberry...

  • Eric, The second item down on the kits list is one for an Antenna Analyser. I have made one, it will give you an SWR vs Frequency plot up to about 50 MHz and is ideal for amateur use. The software also allows one to carry out many other useful measurements. I am also lucky to have a VNWA from SDRKits, a far more capable and expensive device and the the kit stands up very well...

  • Hi, Make one of these kits.....they are excellent though the free case is a bit rough. Nothing that repainting will not cure. The analyser compares very well with my SDRKits VNWA which is used by NASA! http://www.foxdelta.com/shopping/swr.htm Regards, Steve G0XAR

  • Hi David, It might help others to help you if you gave some more information about the problems you are having. Then people might be able to steer you in the right direction. • Eric, If you are familiar with "C" then use it. Controlling hardware attached to the Pi via the GPIO connector is easily done in "C" with the library documented here - http://www.airspayce.com/mikem/bcm2835/ and there are some worked examples. You will probably find a knowledge of UNIX shell scripting useful also. Good Luck, Steve G0XAR On 11 August 2015 at 02:14, Pete Mundy pete...

  • Bernard, I found this http://wsprnet.org/drupal/node/5353 Which proves that someone has done it. I have no idea about the signal link interface though. I guess a cheap USB sound dongle would do. Regards, Steve

  • Make sure you get the right case for your pi before you buy. Later model Pis will not fit into the earlier cases. 73 Steve G0XAR On 20 April 2015 at 14:06, Richard Bown richard@^$1 [Raspberry_Pi_4-Ham_RADIO] < Raspberry_Pi_4-Ham_RADIO@^$2 > wrote: On Mon, 20 Apr 2015 13:06:39 +0100 "Mike Brogan g8jhe@^$3 [Raspberry_Pi_4-Ham_RADIO]" < Raspberry_Pi_4-Ham_RADIO@^$4 > wrote: > A metal...
