Re: [Raspberry_Pi_4-Ham_RADIO] PI TNC Availability
Nice to read you, so many years later!!
I've one Pi and it would be nice to use it with a packet application.
Something about APRS application, is perfect.
I'm interested in al least 3 PCB's (or in kit )
And if I tell this info to my friends here in Bilbao, is possible to have 4 or 5 more.
Thank you for your time!
73's and happy new year!
Rafa EB2DJB2013/1/3 John Wiseman <john.wiseman@...>Hi folks,I've been working on a TNC for the PI. It is based on the TNC-X, shrunk to the same size as the PI, and with the RS232 interface replaced by a 26 way stackable header. The TNC communicates with the PI via the i2c bus, which allows more than one to be connected to the PI, or via the PI's async port. It can be used with any PI packet software that supports a KISS TNC. For i2c, I've written a driver the converts from the i2c protocol to standard KISS over a virtual serial (pty) port.John Hansen W2FS, who produces the TNC-X, has agreed to supply the PI version..It will be available both as a kit and assembled and tested. It will take a few weeks to get boards made, but it would be helpful to know roughly how many people are interesting in purchasing it. If you are interested, please email me, off-list if you prefer. For those new to the group who haven't seen them, there are photos at73, John G8BPQ
- Hi folks. The pi port of BPQ32 is about ready for testing. There are sure to be problems with it still, but if anyone is willing to try it please let me know. At least to start, I suggest testers should be familiar with BPQ32, and have a basic knowledge of linux commands - this isn't really something for those new to either BPQ or linux to play with at this stage. The basic features are:Has been tested on Raspberry PI and Ubuntu running on a PC.BPQ32 compatible Node, includng the APRS Digi/Igate featureUses standard bpq32.cfgDrivers for KISS, AXIP, BPQEther, Telnet, SCS Tracker, SCSPTC. I2C Driver for PITNC on the PI. Others to follow.Includes the BBS part of BPQMailChat (not chat).BBS Configuration and BBS/Node monitoring via a Web interface. The instructions for installing BPQ on linux can be downloaded from https://dl.dropbox.com/u/31910649/InstallingLINBPQ.htm73,John G8BPQ
