      Hi ,
From what replies I 've had I dont consider the PI to be really usable as a weak signal head end.
However, as pulseaudio functions on a PI it should be possible to embed a PI into a homebrew
transceiver and stream audio from it, and I suspect that the reverse procedure will also work.
Which would allow the pi to be used just as a remote sound card, albeit an intelligent one,
The wsjt application and I guess WSPR call use pulseaudio, so should be able to used pulseaudio
source and sink on a remote computer.
Setting the pi as a remote source
      http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/639/how-to-get-pulseaudio-running
As the WSJT/WSPR sound interface is single channel and pulseaudio server will stream in stereo the
spare channel could be used for tone signalling for PTT on the remote transceiver...
From what I've seen probably outside of the interest/ capability of most of the group.
If anyone is already going the same route , please contact off list.
      tnx
