      Hello Everyone,

We have begun the process to get S29/A575 passed this year (by June 30th).  S29/A575 you may remember reduces the signature requirements on all nominating and designating petitions by 1/2. I hope that you can all help.

Phase I calls for us to "survey" our state legislators to see if they will support this legislation at this time, and if they cannot, we are asking them to tell us why.

Attached is a "model" e-mail letter that you can use for this task. I have contacted all of these folks expect for Dave's George Lattimer asking for their support, but I am still waiting to hear from
most of them.  This is not unexpected since I am not one of their constituents;  you are.

I am asking the following people to contact the following:

Bill Schmidt --   Sen. Vincent Leibell
Dave DeSanto - Senator George Latttimer and Assemblyman Suzi Oppenheimer
Gerry Gershonowitz - Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousin     (Howard Johnson - Assemblyman Richard Brodsky)
Bob Cotton  - Assemblyman Kevin Cahill
Nasir   -        Senator Ruth Hassell Thompson;  also your Assemblyman
Steve Jones -  Assemblyman Joel Miller    (99% sure he is in our camp;  please ask for his support  in the Assembly Election Law Committee too)
Tennyson McCall - Assemblyman Marcus Molinaro

If you can not do this for some reason, I understand.  Just drop me a line telling me that you cannot;  also confirm that you received this note

Everyone:  I am also "looking" for constituents of the following:  Senator Jeffrey Klein, Assemblymen J. Gary Pritlow, Adam Bradley, Mike Spano, Nancy Calhoun, Aileen Gunter,
Ellen Jafee, Thomas Kirwan, Nancy Calhoun, Kenneth Zebrowski, and Senator Monahan.

Everyone: If I do not have the names of your Senator and Assemblyman please forward them to me.

To date, the following legislators in the Hudson Valley are "on board":  Senators Bill Larkin and John Bonacic, Assemblymen Greg Ball, Mike Spano, and Assemblywomen
Sandra Galef and Annie Rabbit.  PLEASE E-MAIL THEM THANKING THEM FOR SUPPORTING THIS LEGISLATION.

AND no one in the Region has declined to support us.

CONTACT INFORMATION FOR ALL LEGISLATORS IN THE HUDSON VALLEY ARE LOCATED IN THE HV EXCEL FILE ATTACHED.  OTHER INFO IS AVAILABLE TOO.
